How and When to Rotate Tires

FWD, RWD, and 4WD Vehicles

• Switch the front driver-side tire with the rear passenger-side
• Switch the front passenger-side tire with the rear driver side
• How many miles to rotate tires: 6,000 to 8,000

Dually pickups (trucks with four-wheel wheels)

• Rear passenger-side tire (inside): move to front passenger side
• Rear passenger-side tire (outside): move to rear passenger side (inside)
• Rear driver-side tire (inside): move to front driver side
• Rear driver-side tire (outside): move to rear driver-side (inside)
• Front driver-side tire: move to rear driver side (outside)
• Front passenger-side tire: move to rear passenger side (outside)
• How many miles to rotate tires: 6,000 to 8,000 miles or every six months

AWD Vehicles

• Only trained professionals should rotate tires on an AWD vehicle!
• How many miles to rotate tires: 5,000 to 7,500 miles
